Champoussin
International English speaking ski school in Champoussin
Champoussin is more of a hamlet than a village and as such you get the full Swiss mountain life experience here. People come to Champoussin for the great beginner slopes and the easy access to the challenging slopes around the heart of the Swiss side of the Portes du Soleil. Champoussin is more or less ski in and ski out, most of the chalets, apartments and hotels are located within a very short walk of the slopes. It’s the perfect place to relax and get skiing.
Why we love skiing in Champoussin
● The beginner slopes are great and the addition in recent years of a mini ski cross track through the trees mean that the kids will love it in Champoussin.
● Easy access to the very special Dider Defago piste off of the top of the Aiguille du Midi and Point de l’Au lifts. Experienced skiers will love the Defago and the off piste lines in that bowl.
● Take a walk up to the top of the village and check out the chapel. It’s a beautiful piece of architecture with the best view of the Dents du Midi in the background.
Annabelle
Annabelle is a former racer and loves to get into the Defago early in the morning when the snow is cold and lay her skis over edge to edge, top to bottom.
Dave
‘Dave loves Champoussin and loves to hear the chapel bells ringing as he skis past with kids on the easy blue run where you can make so much progress with semi beginners.’

Champoussin Swiss Ski School - Switzerland
Snowpros offers English language ski lessons with native speaking ski and snowboard instructors for you to book. Other ski schools can provide you with English ski lessons but we are one of the few schools that will guarantee fluent instructors that have English as a first language. We find beginner skiers benefit from a better level of understanding between you and your ski instructor. The clear communication will allow you to improve and grow in confidence in your skiing. It can also make it more enjoyable if you are spending a big part of your day in a ski lesson. Unlike other ski schools, we don't limit our ski instructors to the same resort every day. This allows them to visit other ski areas in Switzerland. So when you find yourself skiing in a different ski resort you can get us to book the same instructor continuity in your development. Within our ski schools across the Portes du Soleil including the resorts of Champoussin and Les Crosets, you can choose to book private ski lessons, beginner lessons, snowboard lessons, intermediate lessons and advanced.

Beginners skiing in Champoussin
All the team at SnowPros Ski School love teaching in Champoussin. The lifts are relatively new are great to use and give us access to some great terrain like the blue runs near the Virage restaurant and Sépaya lifts. Its position in the trees means that if the weather closes in it won't affect your skiing or snowboarding as you can make the most of the definition the wooded runs provide. There are also some great blue runs at the top allowing you to ski to the nearby linked resort of Morgins and back into Champoussin for a true sense of achievement.
Eating & Aprés in Champoussin
There isn't a huge aprés scene in the quiet village of Champoussin so the choice is limited. If you are looking for a lunch spot we recommend popping into Chez Gaby. The staff are welcoming and the rosti is one of the best available in the area. Also on the menu is a selection of traditional Valaisian specialities it really is a ski school favourite. For a nice drink and great atmosphere, you can stop off at the Champoussin Lodge. It is located just off the piste in the centre of the village. The terrace has great views and there is a pool table. For day time dining when you are out on the ski slopes, there are plenty of options over in the Ski resorts of Les Crosets and Champery.
